Omschrijving
First edition. Double issue dedicated to early sketch- and workbooks by Georges Braque, which he rarely permitted to be published. 12 lithographs (incl. title page) in colour, printed by Mourlot, and 8 photogravures in colour and 132 in b/w printed by Draeger Frères. Text in French by Will Grohmann, Rebecca West and Antoine Tudal.
The Verve review was a luxurious, modernist Parisian art magazine published between 1937 and 1960. It sought to bring the works of the emergent Modernist and Surrealist painters to a wider public. Only 38 editions were published, due to the high degree of design and editorial work dedicated to each issue. Each edition contained unique lithographic prints.
