Marc de Montifaud (ca. 1850-ca. 1912), née Marie Amélie Chartoule, was a French feminist author and poet who wrote under a male ‘nom de plume’. She often dressed as her male pseudonym. In 1867 she married Juan Francis Léon Quivogne de Montifaud, director of L’Artiste magazine, to which she collaborated as an art critic. She wrote for feminist magazine La Fronde and was the author of several erotic and anticlerical texts. Her erotic writings evens saw her fined and sentenced to prison.
