Lithographic poster in colours

* Reworked version of Cassiers first RSL poster issued in 1899, now depicting the newest Red Star Line steamer ‘Lapland’ (which is a three-funnel vessel instead of only two). At the bottom the name of the ‘agent’ selling trips ‘Gustaaf Fonteyne, Plezantstraat 45 St. Niklaas”.

Poster folded up, but in good condition. Some smaller tears at the edges, but not affecting the picture.

# Cassiers (1858-1944) worked for the RSL for 25 years, designing their posters, postcards and menus. The drawing is clean and precise and the colours are bright.
